The brief
Berkia & Whitney is a construction health and safety business based in Doncaster. They came to GWB Tec wanting a better way to handle their email, file storage and business data.
The company had grown quickly from a small team into a much larger business, but its technology hadn't kept pace. Email still ran on a basic Fasthosts setup and company files lived in Dropbox.
That was fine in the early days. As the team grew, it became harder to manage securely: permissions were unclear, staff needed different levels of access, and keeping company and client data under control across many users was increasingly difficult.
The team also worked across a mix of Windows and Mac devices. With Teams not working properly for some users, people holding the wrong access and data spread across different systems, the setup was becoming hard to control.
They needed something more secure, centralised and able to grow with them, with clear permissions and a reliable structure for new and existing client work. GWB Tec was asked to design a practical, cost-effective solution and provide hands-on support throughout.
